Massachussets Institute of Technology, one of the most renowned colleges for Science and Technology, has its college admission process scheduled in two ways to suit both American students as well as international students. A Regular American student has fill in an application by August with his or her biographical form. They are later called for an interview with an MIT alumnus and evaluated in Mathematics, Science and Humanities. The interview is usually held during December and the evaluation process takes place in January. They also undergo the SAT, ACT or TOEFL tests during January. The international students undergo a process which is similiar to the American recruiting process. They fill in an online application form during August and undertake TOEFL during January or February and submit their Midyear Report at the same time. The decisions are usually taken during the end of that academic year as to whom to admit.

Now, MIT often dispatches the application decision letters to its chosen applicants ( the prospective students) on a specific day at the end of the academic year. MIT chooses this day to send the letters as a tribute to Math and Science.
